Installing okidata printer on aix New User

I am a new user to this system and after moving an office around the person who moved the system doesn't remember how it was set up. We need the printer. I know nothing of how to use this system. It is Aix v.4.3.
We have an okidata microline 395 24 pin printer. I have a parallel port that already had another printer attached, but it was a different brand and this one is unusable. I would like to just use that port if I could. This printer was originally hooked up through a remote async node. I can follow steps to do it any way if someone will tell me. I am so lost. I really need some step by step information if anyone has it. Thanks in advance if you can walk this newbie through this.

smit # (smit is the all_purpose administration thing)
then choose printers
remove a printer
(remove the old not currently attached printer)
add a printer
add a spool queue
choose your printer from the list
If your printer is not in the displayed list, that means that you have to install the driver for your printer, look at the printer supplier web site.
Hope this helped.
Regards
Zorba

Zorba has it just about right on....however, let me define the menus a little more.

('$' represents your prompt)

$ smit (this will launch the system management tool)

1.)Select 'devices' from the list
2.)Now select 'Printer/Plotter'
3.)Select 'Printer/Plotter Devices'
4.)Then 'Add a printer/plotter'
Once this is done you may have to got 'Configure a defined printer/plotter'
5.)Now go back to the previous menu and select 'Print spooling'
6.)Select 'Add print queue'
7.)You're going to select 'local' on the next menu because the printer is physically connected to the box.
8.) Now you need to select the printer type (OKI)

That should about take care of it for you. I hope this helps!
