How to force a user to change their NIS password at logon?

Hi there

We have setup a NIS domain with a server and a slave, (it works fine)

What happens is when we change a users password on the master, it then gets changed on the slave (which is fine)

We have a standard replacement password to use that the user must change at next logon.

It is policy for the administrators not to know the passwords of the users.

when the user logs back on it does not ask the user to change his/her password.

How do we set this up so that this happens?

Thanks

Ryan

I'd like to know the answer to this question. So ... google to the rescue:

Code:

chage -d 0 <username>
or edit /etc/shadow and change the 3rd element to 0 (which is what I did).
