how to ; modify system uid max range in command in aix /

friends ,

in rhel /etc/login.defs contain the max limit for system uid .

so when u create a new user , system will automatically assign a new uid ..

so i just want to know , is there any similar setting in aix /

Here is what aix has:

in the file of /etc/.ids

You will be able to set the values at a starting point but as far as I know AIX doesn't have a max value that you can set for the ids.

Sample contents: 4 203 12 200

* 4 = administrative user id (mkuser -a)
* 203 = user id (mkuser)
* 12 = administrative group id (mkgroup -a)
* 200 = group id (mkgroup)

AIX does not have maximums. By default administrative accounts are numbered <200, but the calling an account administrative can be confusing.

The only differences a administrative account has with a regular account is that the default group is system, and a higher role in security is required to modify account settings.

If you wanted to enforce maximum values this could be modified in /usr/lib/security/mkuser.sys script that gets run when an account is made.
