go: a cd/pushd/popd/dirs replacement

I have to use the older ksh on AIX alot...
and kinda missed the pushd concept for jumping around a bunch of directories.
but not really, because I didnt always want to pop off my directory, just wanted to cd there.
anyways, find the go script here:

Hello,

Your post here looks like an example duplicate, except for one word. Please refrain from multiple posts throughout different forums if you can, thanks!

dbl

Then how can I get a single post listed in two forums?
this post should be useful to AIX-ers and SUN-ers alike...
and I would NOT expect single UNIX minded techs to read both forums.
Please advise...
JM

Oh ok, I see what you mean. In that case, disregard that, unless a moderator says something. Most likely, one will :p

Over and out,

Josh

You can't, it is against the rules:

  • Do not post the same discussion in more than one forum. Duplicate discussions can be frustrating for other members. Try and pick the most relevant forum for your post. If you are unsure put it in Linux - General.

Your post is a shell script, & scripts are programs. Your thread belongs in Programming.

This thread should be closed & the duplicate should be moved.

I only ever read the AIX forum so would have missed this interesting info...
Might just go and take a look at the programming forum now...
...
Nope, don't like it over there I'll stick with the AIX one.

Your loss -- when we mods are on the top of our game, all shell scripting threads should be moved to Programming.

bash, dash, ksh, csh, etc. are not unique to any OS, so Programming is where they belong. If you find examples to the contrary, even many examples to the contrary, that means that closing duplicate threads is a much higher priority than making sure that every last thread is in exactly the right forum.

:-) What about the rules on hijacking...

archtoad6 05-22-2011 06:50 PM

DukeSSD,

This is not the place for that discussion. Please start an new thread in LQS&F (LQ Suggestions & Feedback). Thanks.
