Hello Krusty,

The first mistake you made is that you are running the kernel debugger on a core file kdb is for debugging the kernel or system dump files. You will need to use dbx to look at the core file if you don't have dbx installed you will need to install the bos.adt.debug fileset off of your base media cds so that you can run dbx <execname> <core> this will allow you to look at the core file to see what is going on. From the top of my head I think that this is a rsct fileset and you will more than likely you will need to update that fileset to have the latest version of it because without the exec compiled with the -g flag you will get very little info from the core file even if you know what you where reading with dbx. So you can do a whereis IBM.HostRM and then do a lslpp -w <full path name from the previous command> this will give you the fileset then you can do a lslpp -l on that fileset name to see if you have the latest fileset.
