There are many different Linux certification courses, so it's ultimately up to you which one to take - although there are many for pure beginners. What I would suggest first though is to take a good read through
RUTE, install Linux, and play around with it. Try out the examples it shows, learn a bit about the administration of a UNIX-based system, and explore the many different commands...

Some Useful Linux Commands. Not only does it cover commands, but also daemons, window managers, important directories, and many other things! (UNIX structure and commands are very similar to Linux's in many ways)
Once you've covered most of that, and you have a good feel of the Linux commands line, then go for some UNIX certs...

Oh, and if you're interested in going straight into the cert, then a simple Google search will do the trick...although taking a look
opengroup.org may help ya...
