Unhappy Certification in UNIX


I don't have any knowledge about UNIX before.

I am very much interested in getting in to AIX, But i was not familiar with the basic UNIX. Before getting into AIX i would like to learn the basic UNIX. I want to know what is the First level certification in UNIX?

Expecting any help from you regarding this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi!

There are many different Linux certification courses, so it's ultimately up to you which one to take - although there are many for pure beginners. What I would suggest first though is to take a good read through RUTE, install Linux, and play around with it. Try out the examples it shows, learn a bit about the administration of a UNIX-based system, and explore the many different commands...

Another useful page is the following one: Some Useful Linux Commands. Not only does it cover commands, but also daemons, window managers, important directories, and many other things! (UNIX structure and commands are very similar to Linux's in many ways)

Once you've covered most of that, and you have a good feel of the Linux commands line, then go for some UNIX certs...

Ps. How about the complete the Complete Linux Commands List? It does come in handy at times...
Oh, and if you're interested in going straight into the cert, then a simple Google search will do the trick...although taking a look opengroup.org may help ya...
