"4mlinux" is Slackware based. EDIT: Looks like "Slackware" (→ packages.*xz)
Has the Slackware package installer, and can do # installpkg [package].txz

Example, 4mlinux-21.2
Slackware 14.2 ftp://ftp.slackware.org.uk/slackware...4.2/slackware/

gcc ftp://ftp.slackware.org.uk/slackware...3.0-i586-3.txz
g++ ftp://ftp.slackware.org.uk/slackware...3.0-i586-3.txz

cd Downloads/
# installpkg gcc-5.3.0-i586-3.txz
# installpkg gcc-g++-5.3.0-i586-3.txz

4MLinux is an independent distro, so it must have its own development toolchain. You can find it on the 4MLinux installation CD and online:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lin...es/20.0/devel/ (old stable)
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lin...es/21.0/devel/ (stable)
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lin...es/22.0/devel/ (beta)

@zk1234, lots of packages.txz are installed at livecd run : Looks like Slackware.
And really : installpkg is present, and installs packages !

So I just did
Code:
installpkg gcc-5.3.0-i586-3.txz && installpkg gcc-g++-5.3.0-i586-3.txz

gcc -v
g++ -v

There is even more fun:
installpkg package.txz (Slackware) works under 4MLinux,
dpkg -i package.deb (Debian) also works,
rpm -i package.rpm (Fedora) works, too.

4MLinux native packages (so called addons) are installed as follows:
zk addon.tar.xz

@knudfl

One more remark:
I am as old as Patrick Volkerding is. Slackware used to be my only Linux distribution for years. One day I wrote the first script to adjust Slackware to my personal needs. That time I didn't realize that it was the very beginning of 4MLinux. 4MLinux 1.0 (and a few more early versions) was compiled under Slackware.
But it's history. 4MLinux has been a fully independent distro for years now.
