4MLinux connection issues

I really like the look of 4MLinux. It has a lot of nice tools and a cool look to it.
However, 4MLinux 14.0 live usb will not connect to wifi. I've tried all instructions on configuration, etc., on options 1, 2 and 3.
Reinstalled iso twice and checked everything...still nothing. It always says that wifi must be configured after I configure and connect. It is as though the configuration doesn't save...or it simply doesn't see it.

I've never had a problem with any current distro connecting until this one. I would really like to try this out on usb, but no wifi is a no-go. It may be a 4M driver issue, but with my system, this simply should not be. I've checked all I know to check, both in archiver and terminal (btw, I am NOT a 'newbie')...and still no-go. This seems to be a distro-specific problem.
Any ideas other than all the 'instruction' given on the web? I am hoping to use 4M 'to-go' on usb without having to compile to the base.

I really like the look of 4M...would like to have it with me on usb if it would connect properly.

Thanx!

That was an "SMS" sent to you by the "sms" script (a part of the 4MLinux help package). Try to connect again and have a look at the system tray. Can you see a blinking icon there? If so, the icon is asking you "click on me". If there is no blinking icon, open your terminal and execute the "connect" command in it.

Ok, I'll try it. Seems to be an extra hoop to go through, as 'connect' should execute the entire command, with the 'blinking icon' not needing to be clicked, but merely an indicator showing that it IS connecting. Hmmmmm.....

But, I'll try it and see if it gets it.

Thanx for your reply.

Greetings...

Ok, I tried it, but no good.

Under selections 2 and 3, the result is:
Sending discover...
No lease, failing

Under selection 1, the result is:
Sending discover...
Read error: Network is down, reopening socket

Also, when I clicked on 'blinking icon', nothing happened--left click = nothing...right click = configure window (which doesn't seem to respond to previous configuration settings.

I'll play with it some more, but I may end up building it from base. I really don't want to go this far, though...I do enough compiling with Arch.

I may have to make changes in the directory.

Anyhow, thanx for your attention to this matter.
