I think anyone interested in playing something a little simpler than nethack with some decent graphic tiles will love it. Please try it before you vote! It's online as well if you can't get to a linux machine. https://crawl.develz.org/play.htm

Very addictive.
You've convinced me. This is a great game! Thanks for the tip.

I voted for SuperTuxKart. It's fun and, better still, I find it funny that these cute little mascots would stoop to the cartoon-like violence to win a race. They aren't as sweet as they look.

Hello jeremy and everyone in this amazing site! If I have to vote for the best at this time period, I would choose Ryzom. Simply put, one of the best games i have ever played and still I am at the beginning of the game :). It is mmorpg, free to play and fully opensourced (server, client, etc) with native client for linux. Unfortunately, it is not in the list :( But that's ok.

Other great games I have played of great and equal quality include 0AD, Battle for Wesnoth, Supertuxkart and Warzone.

Also, thanks guys for the suggestions in the previous comments. I didn't know many of these games.

Ryzom has been added (this will ensure it's included from the beginning next year).
