Privacy Solution of the Year

A new category last year and the results were very close.

Use mostly Ublock depending on browser being used.

ondoho 12-31-2015 04:46 AM

can't be only one, i'd say. so i didn't vote.
fwiw, i use hostsblock for system-wide blocking, and a combo of noscript and requestpolicy in firefox.

jamathis 12-31-2015 07:16 AM

I use a few of those, but if I had to pick just one it would be Adblock Edge. It's usually the first thing I install.

VeraCrypt?
It has replaced TrueCyrpt which has, IIRC, been discontinued?

jeremy 01-02-2016 09:37 AM

VeraCrypt has been added.

I think ad blockers belong to a different category. I would have voted twice, one for an ad blocker and another for VeraCrypt.

I like this idea, though I can see how many ad blockers also block trackers, therefore working for privacy.

Many Thanks!

I use ublock origin, but I wish it had the list like ABP, where you could see all scripts and images and could easily block using wildcards. ublock still has a ways to go with functionality if you don't want to use pre-configured blocklists. (I used to start with a clean ABP installation and only block troublesome scripts/images... it is much harder to do that with ublock origin).

Non-free (proprietary) browser for Mac and PC, no Linux version that I can see.

One might be forgiven for thinking this looks like a SPAM post...

Is this only for browser privacy or can GNUnet be added? That would be my choice.
