Although Sonata is separated from MPD, they generally go together. I voted on mpd because I use a combination of mpd + mpc + ncmpcpp + Sonata + mpdpss.

Huh .. no listing for xine? I guess people just think of it as a video player, but it does a good job for audio too.

I am not seeing Pragha on the list. Its a compact and very good audio player.

I like Timidity++ for Karaoke midi files, MilkyTracker for mod files and sox and gramofile for other formats.

Voted for xmms as it has served me well over the years, (I don't like full screen players).

(Also, I should like to say that mpg123 is used when I play music via mc.)

XMMS still streams kikinovak radio in my Motorcycle Shop media center computer.
Besides other .pls radio stations.
