I have to admit it I like Gnome 3 but I like MATE even more and I use MATE more than any other DE.

LXDE hands down, though I rarely use it. I always wind up hacking my desktop together out of dzen, dmenu, a tiling wm, conky, and a bunch of scripts. Perhaps "keyboard driven Erector set" should be added to list?  |

Switched to Xfce4 when Gnome devs lost the the plot, now on LFS.

My preferred DE is LXDE, but my vote went to Cinnamon because I find it to be Gnome3 done right
