I have to admit it I like Gnome 3 but I like MATE even more and I use MATE more than any other DE.

LXDE hands down, though I rarely use it. I always wind up hacking my desktop together out of dzen, dmenu, a tiling wm, conky, and a bunch of scripts. Perhaps "keyboard driven Erector set" should be added to list?

Switched to Xfce4 when Gnome devs lost the the plot, now on LFS.

My preferred DE is LXDE, but my vote went to Cinnamon because I find it to be Gnome3 done right
