i3 for flexibility, configurability and, as it turns out, being more awesome than AwesomeWM

FredGSanford 01-13-2011 04:36 PM

When I install a bare system, such as Debian Netinst, after adding GUI stuff, the first WM will be Fluxbox.

MrCode 01-14-2011 12:51 AM

Of course I figure the *boxen and other non-compositors will win this one by a long shot, but I voted Compiz here...yes, I'm a sucker for flashy visual effects  (plus which my lappy has more than enough resources to handle it).

bathory 01-14-2011 08:46 AM

Another one for fluxbox

brianL 01-14-2011 09:12 AM

And another.

Melkor 01-14-2011 10:55 AM

Ditto here. I love Fluxbox. I play around with other WMs pretty regularly, and sometimes I even stick to one for a while, but I always come back to Fluxbox.

LOL Same here. I like flashy stuff. Thats why I had to still my wifes video card so I can use a propriatary driver lol. My old Radeon x700 pro drivers weren't updated and opensource drivers just couldn't do it. lol

PrinceCruise 01-14-2011 02:15 PM

FluxBox, eh ;)

esteeven 01-14-2011 03:27 PM

I want a rotating cube so Compiz for me.

the trooper 01-15-2011 04:58 AM

Sorry to go with the flow, but I love Fluxbox too!.

kde or openbox,
well, I have to say that openbox is a light window manager, and very pretty, but I don't know why, that is not so stable for me, if I just leave it on, and do not do some action, it gonna be die within 5mins, and have no reaction without force computer shutdown( cut down the power).

but kde is nice.

KDE is not a window manager. It is a desktop environment.
