A new poll this year.

The only reason for voting for CakePHP is that that's the only one I've tried. I'm looking forward to the results of this category. Not that popularity has always much to do with quality, but still...

I voted for Django of course, I live it!

No Spring MVC?

Spring is already a nominee in this category.

Gah, sorry, you're right, my bad for reading over it.

Two that should be added:
CodeIgniter (pretty known)
Kohana (not very well known, but very very good, albeit young...)

jeremy 01-17-2011 12:08 PM

CodeIgniter has been added.

Maybe Squiz belongs here

I suggested Squiz family of CMS products should be in the CMS section. Then I saw this Web Framework category.
For the usual workflow/version control features I would vote Squiz in a corporate/government environment.

Cool! Looking forward to some interesting discussion :)

But holy cow, Batman, there's just too many to mention. Also, doesn't Django fit better under CMS than web framework per se? Yeah, I know it can be stretched, but it doesn't really seem like the best category for it when compared to the likes of, for example, ROR, Struts, or Spring.

I don't actually use one, tend to roll my own stuff when needed.
But I'd be interested in checking the winners of this out.
Had a look at CakePHP a while ago and it looked pretty complicated to actually just get on with coding on it.

tadeas 01-23-2011 12:15 PM

Nette. Could it be added? :)

lsces 02-01-2011 04:50 PM

None of the above?

I think that picking a few names from the much larger 'marketplace' is a little pointless. Add to that the fact that some of the better 'frameworks' cover other new categories as well. This is simply not an area that can be 'compartmentalised' so an 'others' option should be included.

Horde is missing

szpak 02-03-2011 02:43 PM

Apache Wicket could be added.

SkyEye 02-07-2011 12:20 PM

With Rails 3 out, it's a no-brainer.
