moc usually, xmms sometimes, qmmp rarely.

I've grown fond of Rhythmbox of late.
where is cplay
I use cplay, but I don't see it listed...
here is a nice intro, for those not acquainted with it http://kmandla.wordpress.com/2007/05...ay-like-a-pro/ |
Audacious!
yeah!!! MOC at last here!! Cheers.

Most audio players on Linux are hideous.
Amarok is gross, rhythmbox isn't much better - the GUI's are just shameful. Neither can cope with gapless playback properly. And the other apps are all "also rans". Not at all happy with audio playback on Linux! |
Aqualung is gapless - a key reason for its coming into existence according to the blurb.
audacious - plays almost all my favorite chip music formats
they changed default skin! yeah(old winamp days gone) fast to load :) vs amarok nice plugins crystalyze ,extra stereo ahhh quality sound! |
I'm a very recent Audacious convert.
I use VLC, but its already in another category, so I will skip this vote.
though Exaile is quite slow on large media library, I use it often for small playlists......Exaile forever
I am not sure if Spotify should be in there (??). It is not really a traditional music player...but it can also play local music.
I do not agree that Sonata and MPD should be separate entries.
cmus as well. Although the latest Audacious is good too. They got rid of that retro winamp junk (at least it's not the default anymore) and now it fits in nicely with the Gnome desktop. Too bad cmus wan't on the list :(
cmus has been added.
Spotify does not fit in with this category. --jeremy |
