Yikes! Combining IDE and Web Dev? Pretty bold move there and makes for a tough call as I use different for each. Going to have to ponder this one a bit....

Since i working i strat using Eclipse, and is a 9 over 10 (-1 for the high memory usage) IDE, even for C++.

I used to be a Quanta user, but that is thoroughly outdated now. And Netbeans is shaping up nicely!

emacs but no vim? What's the world coming to.

I've broken down and moved to eclipse for most development I'm required to do, but prior to that in most cases I used vim. Few macros and bash scripts and its quite usable as such.

For what little programming I do, I just use either gedit+gcc or vim+gcc. I have Eclipse installed, but I haven't messed with it since I have (I'm thinking about maybe getting rid of it).

The problem with eclipse was ... "configuring is difficult". especially for the new users.

When I'm not using Emacs, Netbeans has always treated me well.
