Gajim.
I was a big Kopete fan, but it has been "broken" since the move to, ugh, KDE 4, and has yet to be "fixed."
Just out of curiosity, what do you find "broken" about it? (I'm a very occasional user of kopete, and I thought the changes in kopete from kde3 to kde4 were, on the whole positive. But I don't use kde as my desktop environment, so maybe I'm not seeing some of the things you consider to be breakage.)

Cheers.
Three things come to mind at the moment. One, It can't remember the stealth sitting from session to session, two, it can't remember the sound setting (notifications) from session to session and/or they just plain don't work even after being set at the being of the session, and, three, when firing up the Yahoo Messenger accounts, it gives an error that you can't add yourself to the list, even though you are not on the list.
