I use vlc and xine. I think if you count all reactions that xine would win as 2nd best used player by a landslide. The prefered choice is mplayer or vlc. I don like mplayer myself so I stick with vlc
Mplayer all the way...and just like sycamorex, NO FRONT ENDS!! Playing your video on the command line with mplayer is not only cool but most certainly the most reliable way to get the movie experience, it never fails me.
This was much closer then I ever expected. I myself use VLC but didn't think it would come close to mplayer as that is so popular in the linux community
I still stand true to the statement kaffeine is nothing more then a xine frontend. Still, with both combined it's only half of what that cesspool mplayer got.
