This is a classic one and one of my favorites. Let's see how long until people start asking for "Vim" to be added as an "IDE". We just have to have that discussion, or else it's like Christmas without Santa.

Eclipse again this year, even though Ganymede was a huge disappointment this year. The thing is all flashy but no substance and very unstable. Europa was a far better release, in my honest opinion.

Netbeans has worked nicely for me with both java and c++ at school
I'm gona vote for Netbeans, because it deserves credit for their improvements

religion aside, checkout netbeans 6.5 ... some details like code completion are far better than eclipse.

How can we choose an IDE tool that is linked with a CASE tool and give us the power to develop and release applications that are OS, GUI, RDBMS, processors independent. If exist this environment let me know.
