GIMP! Of course it's the only one I've really used out of this list. It's a bit tricky to learn if you're not used to photoshop type apps but it is very robust and fun to shop pictures with.

Well, I voted for GIMP last time, so this time I'll vote for Inkscape. Obviously they don't do the same thing, but they are both very good.

I haven't really done much image/graphic editing this year, but the few times I did, I used Gimp. A while back, I could not vote for Gimp without voting to Blender. I was using both at all times. So I am voting Gimp, because it is the only one I actually used. I love blender though

I find that Krita makes many things accessible that I have to hunt down in GIMP, so I would usually use that over GIMP.
But I have voted Inkscape - a potent program, particular in a combo with the HeathenX screencasts.

Thanks for the link to screencasters etc., just checked it out and it looks useful. Voted GIMP last year, but have been doing much more vector stuff this year ( bought a good camera as well which helps), so go Inkscape.

Voted for Scribus because it saved my butt when I needed to get a poster presentation together in a hurry. Went from concept on Friday PM through learning Scribus to finished PDF Monday AM for printing by Monday PM.
Wish I could vote more than once for this one!
