Is there a point in adding languages that virtually noone uses? Because I've seen many suggesting it here. I think if you use some of those languages, it could be better if you tell us what you do with it prior to adding it to the list. Because if the sole purpose to add a new language is to make the list longer and more bloated, I'd recommend this link:

214 programming languages and scripts that print the famous string "hello world". We should add them all

I just wanted to point this out, because in this year's poll, these languages scored less that 1% (some even less than .5%):

Erlang
Smalltalk
Lua
Cobol
Scheme
OCaml

That is quite a lot for such a small list already. In my opinion, the list has to be reduced, not the other way around.

Indeed, this applies to also all the other polls, but I see suggestions coming up specifically in this one more often than the others...

Other languages that are on Linux that are worthy of mention in my books.

BASIC (FreeBASIC, GAMBAS)

PASCAL (Free Pascal/Lazarus)
