It's all about Glest and armagetronad (which I used to play before work a few years ago), I think some people still remembers certain infamous character named \The Evil One/

Please, with all respect for you... The name of your distro has nothing to do with the game.
But I certainly agree with you in that point.

Stop the *tu madness !!

A campaign brought to you by: Clean those howto change *tu icons from the Internetz.

I know Ubuntu Hardy has nothing to do with this but I just mentioned that I play on it. And I like the game the way it performs on it.
And please, I am not campaigning for Ubuntu in any way.

Hmmm....

No Chromium? I never paid attention to whether it was open source or not, but assumed it was since it was in the PCLinux OS repository. I even put it on my only Windows box since there is very little else there that I use.

And I used to love Nexuiz, but got tired of the "community." Used to be helpful and supportive, but I left when they got too full of themselves. I don't even have the desire to peek in on them and see what's up...

Around what date? Some members of the community can get a little bent out of shape on occasion but overall I love the community and I think they've been pulling together more than ever recently. There has been a crazy amount of improvements and contributions of community patches recently. Nexuiz 2.5 which is scheduled to release in a little less than 2 months it's going to be a HUGE milestone for the project. With many things getting ported to client side (such as the scoreboard and effects), and artists stepping up to the challenge, this game feels stronger every day.

Drastic code improvements by divVerent have opened up the possibilities for scaling, now boasting 24 weapon slots, modelers and coders are diligently working to fill the space.

Innovations in the tools used to create content in and surrounding the game are sharing the wealth with other open-source projects using the same or similar technologies.

Crimson fields

A remake of Battle Isle (he only one which let you play with blue and rose battle tanks !). Crimson is a very good replacement.

Personally, the one I find myself playing over and over is Kobo Deluxe. Ultra addicting for me... and I just can't seem to get past level 23!

Wormux

Xtris is certainly an all time favorite of mine, but Wormux sure is rapidly becoming my #1.

what about ET?

Enemy Territory is still the best... after 6 years! The source is available for the game and the engine but I'm not sure that makes it 'OSS' rather than still being Freeware however...

Free, multi-platform, get it!

Quake Wars was a disappointment...

Vegastrike and Vulture's Eye/Claw deserve fair mention.
