Just to follow up on my previous post...

Finally got around to updating my main workstation and been exploring Gnome-2.24 a bit more in depth. Once you start to get used to it it's not so bad, pretty impressive in fact. Glitchy as all get out but pretty impressive nonetheless. Looking forward to next year's polls, by wh/time kde4 might be stable enough to be worth taking a second gander
