The WebKit sample browsers may be worth adding

I have been a Firefox user for years, but this year it goes to Opera. It is smoother, faster, and doesn't plague me with a memory leak from multiple open tabs.

There's midori too.
Basically it's a web browser using webkitgtk. It's light, fast and renders properly. The problem is it's still alpha with a bad bug regarding tabs.
However I bet it will become great.

(I've already voter but wanted to make some advertisement for midori )

Firefox' "lets render everything *plus* the kitchensink" approach makes it flakey when a system is under stress, (certain combinations of) plugins make it instable and while the "recover session" is a nice idea it shouldn't have this tendency to crash in the first place.

I've been accustomed to using tabs, built-in session management, built-in per-site prefs (including user supplied CSS and .js) and ad blocking and thorough configurability for a long time now. That can only spell Opera...

Lightbulb

I've been using Konqueror, Epiphany, Opera, but I can't get used to them. They all have very good features, but I definitely stay with Firefox and Linx for text surfing.

I liked Konqueror with KDE 3, but with the new KDE 4 version, I can't help but say I'm impressed.

Definitely Firefox. I've been using it for 3 years, now (first 2 on Windows), and it's given me no reason to even try anything else.

Cheers

Its Opera all the way...

Why?
Its configurable search field. I love it.
Modes, Author mode and User mode, awesome feature and creativity.
It has lot of features that are easily accessible.

RESPECT THOSE WHO RESPECT STANDARDS...

Same features are also in Firefox but they are hidden in menus and plug-in.
E.g. Zooming feature, in Opera its on the tool bar and quite visible so easier to use. These same features are in Firefox, but its hidden in menus so hard to use. Even I didn't know that I could zoom in Firefox until I read somewhere.

What I miss in Opera is spell check facility.
If some opera developer is reading, please get the voice support in Linux version also.

My second choice is Firefox.

For text browsing its elinks

Generally, I use Firefox/Iceweasel/Icecat for general browsing, but I find myself using Opera exclusively if I need to do any searches. I just find Opera zips around a lot quicker when I jump from site to site in search of answers.

. . . just my two cents . . .

Firefox gets my vote. Can't really get used to using any other browser.
