I am glad Tux Racer is dead, death to the traitor. It is like making a game staring the GNU and releasing it under DRM.
I like PPRacer a Tux Racer derivative.
I never heard of PPRacer. Thanks for the tip. I was kinda sad when TuxRacer went commercial as well. There were many improvements on their enhanced version though. Personally, I've nothing against paying money for software, but when a project starts under one free license and then goes totally commercial is kinda weird. All they did in the long run was to kill the game.
It is confirmed though. TuxRacer is dead. Their pages has not been updated since 2004 and tuxracer.org is officially Cybersquatted. Open Racer is also dead and PlanetPenguin changed its name to Extreme TuxRacer. So basically, from the list in this pool, the only game that could get votes is actually TuxRacer, unless it somehow makes sense to vote for a dead 2004 game as the best open source game for 2007
I can't believe there isn't http://www.lbz3d.com/ on the list!
all try immediately!
BEWARE it's addictive and dual player!
My favorite is the old lbz, but the lbz3d has more advanced features.
a shame!
no vote from me except for lbz!
This isn't open source but I think urban terror is the best free game out there. http://www.urbanterror.net/news.php
It's similar to counterstrike but i actually like it better.
Either way, yes... It's a very good remake of the original puzzle bobble and whatnot, and the online play is a nice touch. I think they could have mixed it up a bit and not be a full on remake of Puzzle Bobble... (Seriously, would gameplay variants hurt too much?)

Appearantly, they wanted well-seasoned players of Puzzle-Bobble to be well-seasoned players of Frozen-Bubble too.
Okay, I guess it wasn't a very original game, but it is addictive .
