I think SUSE 10 is the distro of the year. It is easy to use and configure. You should also look at the package manager. I have use the RHEL, but it has disappointed me in terms of DVD play back.
I have used just about every distro out there and have found that Ubuntu is by far the best. it is the one that I set all of my customers with as it is the easiest and in my view the nicest out there. I use edgy!!!!!!!!!
Hi Jeremy, I wanted to vote for Puppy in the Disto catagory (Have already voted for it in the "Live CD" part), but I use and prefer Puppy for both areas. I've tried Ubuntu, PCli9nux, Mandrivia, Suse, Fedora, you name it. Please could you add it to the list.
I selected PCLinux as distro of the year because it works best out of the box,I think, but I dual boot with Ubuntu Edgy. It was a hard choice they are both so good.
PCLinuxOS. Up to a couple years ago I tried many distro's and settled on Mandrake. I would use Texstar's rpm's to improve it. Once PCLOS came out, I tried it and have never looked back. I play with Fedora and Ubuntu (as well as others) on occasion to see how they've come along, but PCLOS is the one I keep.
