I am using gnome 2.8 on Debian Sarge. I like it because most programs I use are designed for gnome. I have to say KDE 3.5 introduced some vary good features to make things easer for new users coming from the nightmare that is Windows.

i really dont get the whole point of the flame wars between gnome and KDE users...

i used to use KDE in mandriva and it was great... ever since i switched to ubuntu i've been using gnome... and when it comes down to what i use my computer for, i think they are both great...

but voted gnome since thats what i've been using most of 2006... and its great!

Where's rox?

Try out CPXmini for a distro with the rox desktop, it can be installed to a usb flash.

Of the options I voted, KDE though I don't use it(I prefer fluxbox and rox), as it is well integrated and for those that like that sort of thing, it is the best.

I have been using GNOME from day one but lately I'm stuck with some performance issues...

Considering to switch over to XFCE...

Or ROX? I've heard some beautiful things about it...

Smile Gnome in SLED

I've always used KDE but having got hold of a copy of SLED 10 which defaults to Gnome I have to say I really like the SLAB menu. Since then I've installed SUSE 10.2 however the new KDE menu is quite nice, but still not as good as Gnome in SLED

Gnome seems to work best for me
I've tried KDE and while there is nothing wrong with it I'm more comfortable on a gnome desktop
gnome does seem to be able to handle more
I've broken KDE but haven't broken gnome yet
I'm no power user I'm just trying to get my hardware to work
KDE is what I would install my kids computer it works it's pretty and lots of apps but if your looking to control your system more I've hade better luck with gnome

sorry to be long winded
