This one is a no brainer. I vote KDE because of its features and how easy it is to customise to my taste.

I voted for KDE because that is what I use, but Gnome is a strong STRONG condender. Specially after KDE has officialy stopped supporting RAM < 128 mb. And I used to think only Windows XP uses so much ram

If only it was not for amarok.

Next year, I think it will be different, but then next year I will be voting for KDE 4

Lets see how that turns out.

Hmmm.... I use XFCE as my primary desktop enviro, but I run MANY KDE apps, enough so that I simply let my Slack install disk install the full KDE environment. So really, my vote would be for the combination of the two, but I suppose if I have to choose ONE of them it would have to be XFCE.

I have never given priority to KDE nor Gnome. But Gnome is little difficult for new users so my vote goes for KDE

I know some call it bloated or slow or whatever. On my 700 Mhz Athlon it is fast enough, very comfortable and offers a tremendous amount of tools for every purpose and then some. KDE anytime.

I've tried gnome and kde. I like the panels of gnome more. But overall I like kde better. It's a much more complete desktop than gnome (app-wise). Sure I can use kde apps in gnome but it's so much nicer when everything blends together in one unified piece.

gnome on all my machines.

I keep installing the latest kde to try it, but then wander back to gnome. To be fair, it's because I'm more comfortable with the gnome apps than the kde apps.

It could be argued gtk+ vs qt, but thats another thread on it's own. Most programmers would argue qt kicks gtk+'s butt, but I still like the gnome apps.

Really enjoying the KDE experience on SUSE 10.[0-2]
