Pilatus666, probably this is a personal preference, but have you ever tried emelFM2?

I know it's a little late, but what about the virtual machines (VMware, Xen, QEMU, etc) category? Oh well, maybe next year.

Edit: Sorry, missed the 'Windows on Linux App' category ... talk about being blind

How about a file system category. Everyone has one. Some are more popular than others.

Whoah! I already get ridiculed for recieving e-mails because i'm subscribed to a thread on text editors....

;)

Since I'm always broke and don't donate to open source projects the way I should... these polls placate my desire to recognize and express appreciation for software I'm so grateful for. I hope developers on these projects see these results and continue to know they are making a huge difference in people's lives. Thanks to the ones who make all this possible!

A suggestion: perhaps we could further split the graphics editors into vector 2D, bitmap, and 3D graphics. I'm an avid Gimp and Inkscape user and you could not compare one with the other as they cater to different purposes. Nevertheless, they both appear under the same category.
Thanks.

So tommorow we see the results... I'm waiting patiently, like I have a choice... ;)

I'm happy to announce that the official results are in:

I just discovered this sub-forum. Totally awesome! As I start to do more things in Linux I need quick advice on which is the best app and I don't have time to try them all. This is the best, most recent collection of "best of's" I've seen.

Next year please add the file manager poll. I'd like to see Konqueror shine!
