hi everyone,
I don't need any 'hardcore' or advanced stuff, just something like Windows Movie Maker, but for Linux. Just simple effects, cutting and pasting,etc... Which of these is what I need?

Where was blender?

It does animations and such quite well (plus it supports audio). I can't use it too well but I like the parts I can use :P

I guess I should have whined earlier when voting was open :P
Maybe it could be on the poll next year, which I hope I'm not too late for... hehe

Gotta agree with that dude up there ^

NLE on Linux seems to be a pain. I've been using MediaStudioPro for Many Many years and have, in fact, just given up filming weddings etc.

I have Debian 64 installed and wanted to see if I could do some editing & dvd authoring, but....

Whatever way you turn you get problems !!

here's a synaptic message for example

cinelerra:
Depends: libasound2 (>1.0.14) but 1.0.13-2 is to be installed
Depends: libc6 (>=2.6-1) but 2.3.6.ds1-13etch2 is to be installed
Depends: libfreetype6 (>=2.3.5) but 2.2.1-5+etch1 is to be installed
Depends: libgcc1 (>=1:4.2-20070516) but 1:4.1.1-21 is to be installed
Depends: libguicast but it is not going to be installed
Depends: liblame0 (>=3.97) but it is not installable
Depends: libmjpegtools0 (>=1:1.8.0) but it is not installable
Depends: libmpeg3hv but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libopenexr2ldbl (>=1.2.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libquicktimehv but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libstdc++6 (>=4.2-20070516) but 4.1.1-21 is to be installed
Depends: libvorbis0a (>=1.2.0) but 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2 is to be installed
Depends: libvorbisfile3 (>=1.2.0) but 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2 is to be installed
Depends: zlib1g (>=1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-1) but 1:1.2.3-13 is to be installed
Depends: libguicast but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libquicktimehv but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libmpeg3hv but it is not going to be installed

Sod that crap.. Just bloody work !!
