this one was a tough choice considering I use GAIM (on occassion), BitchX and aMSN. But I like aMSN for what it is ;)

strangevarius 01-02-2007 07:21 AM

I vote for GAIM.

Gaim, but I really ought to give others a chance.

Think I'll take a look at Sim and Kopete next.

munkii 01-02-2007 11:46 AM

Kopete kicks Gaim in the nuts! FACT

Samoth 01-02-2007 04:46 PM

Gaim! Does everything, and w/ encryption, you can't beat it.

anupamsr 01-02-2007 06:20 PM

Gaim is so slow in release. And so boring in implementing new features...

I vote for Psi, development versions.

vangelis 01-03-2007 05:37 AM

kopete is awesome, even when you first look at it, it looks more flexible than gaim.

kesara 01-03-2007 07:25 AM

irssi with BittleBee!

Padma 01-03-2007 11:09 AM

I use Kopete for chatting, so I picked that one. But I spend far more time onirc, and the best there is KVirc, which isn't even in the poll.... :(

scorpion_gr 01-03-2007 11:54 AM

Started with gaim on gnome. Then switched to kde. Kopete beats gaim all black and blue. I still use gaim when on windows.

jens 01-03-2007 09:43 PM

GnomeMeeting is renamed in Akiga ;)
