Mplayer plays everything, nice look, but I don't like the DVD playback and the subtitles.
On the other hand Xine has a much better DVD playback and subtitles, but I don't like the look.
Vote goes to Mplayer.
I always voted for mplayer before, but I have been having problems with it for the last little while, so I've changed my allegiance to xine. Still, I'm sure I will use both, but I am using xine more these days...

Kaffeine will not be added this year as it's really just a front end. That being said, by next year I think there will be a significant enough number of multimedia frontends that they may require a dedicated category.
