I would go with Firefox 1.5 here.

Writing scripts to have lynx browse the web and then parsing the output can be very useful. Lynx has my vote.

Internet Explorer! Without its security holes, nobody would've even heard of Firefox...

Firefox is much slower and crashes more than Konqueror plus its in GTK which doesn't integrate nicely with KDE but I just can live without all those firefox plugins (I love you Greasemonkey!) and I can't get flash on konqueror because I'm on a AMD64 system.

but AFAIK, it's totally free as in beer, not freedom. I don't like the wasy Opera leaves tabs open. I voted Firefox, despite the fact that I'm still running 1.0.7(etch takes forever to get 1.5)

I got exactly the same problem, though I hope it'll be 1.5 in etch soon. I definitely need Greasemonkey...

Epiphany

Since I'm already using Gnome, I find that Epiphany is faster at responding than Firefox, and it has a great bookmark system in which one bookmark can be in several categories. The bookmarks are kept for use in other Gnome applications, too. Finally, the extensions are more easily installable than in Firefox, simply by opening Tools > Extensions, then choosing the ones you like. I personally add auto-reload for my slashdot tab and the ability to move tabs around and between windows.
