Hi...
New to all of this... But nexuiz for for sure... It was a deciding factor in making the jump to linux. |
I don't really have enough memory to play the kind of games that I like. I'd have to vote for scorched3D, though. I'm partial to the simulators.
|
I don't want to vote for any of those (that doesn't mean that they aren't good, but I wouldn't describe any of them as 'Open Source Game of the Year'). I think PlaneShift should be awarded with this title, but evidently I missed the nomination process entirely somehow.
|
I voted GNOME sudoku because it is the closest thing to ksudoku on the list. I play that at least 5 min./day
|
Frozen bubble. and now since i can play it on my symbian phone i can always play it:D
|
oh ... none of the above
my best is xblockout (xbl) simple, light, and mind :p |
Supertux.
We are not dealing with the best of the games, so the funny one I choosed. |
All my ranting about the advantages of OSS fell on deaf ears in convincing my family to switch to linux. All that changed after I showed them frozen-bubble.
Now my mother plays it constantly. Seriously, I hear the frozen-bubble music non-stop from her room. So I vote frozen-bubble all the way. It's more than a game, it's a way of life :). |
Globulation 2
Globulation 2, easy to play RTS, jsut for those times when you need to build a colony of pink globby things
|
I've just discovered SameGnome, it's a lot like FrozenBubble. I almost like it about equally now.
Anybody running Ubuntu should have it preinstalled. |
Supertux for sure. I also like pingus & frozen-bubble.
|
xbill. why?

Well, I would vote aleph one, but it's modules did not start as F/OSS, so I guess that disqualifies it.
|
I was shocked not to see NetHack, but I voted Battle for Wesnoth, intresting game.
|
