I am a very newbie. mc is hard to me. :(

Midnight Commander is very full featured (and quite similar to Norton commander used in other OS's). emelfm2 seems to me to be a more "guified" (is that even a word?) version of mc. It is also quite powerful. Gentoo (the file manager not the distro) is also quite useful.

That's pretty much what I use, maybe a little grep and find and a few others thrown in.

Can't vote, I only use Krusader and Worker http://www.boomerangsworld.de/worker/

Snowolf 01-01-2005 10:41 AM

I am using Konqueror and it works... and this is the most important think...

Napper 01-01-2005 10:50 AM

Krusader for me, too...

I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but thats
me to.

If you're like me and often create a ton of
similarly named files and/or directory structures at the same
time, you want stuff that only a good shell can offer (BASH) .

nautilus seemed OK for the windows switch-over, prior
to learning BASH.

Krusader

emelfm

Incidentally, anyone know where the source code for their version is? They seem to have modified it, but I can't find the code.

A combination of konqueror and terminal screen, never used a file manager before so I really could vote for anything.

Hi,

It's a hard choice, i mostly use MC, but i like Konqueror (because of the fish command to transfert files between my servers).
