FTP Server of the Year

What do you use to serve?

unSpawn 11-15-2003 06:18 PM

Muddleftpd or vsftpd

Swift&Smart 11-15-2003 07:52 PM

Why not WU-FTPD?

I've been using WU-FTPD for half year.It runs fine without any serious problem. :D

Rock on Jimmy Dean, Rock on....

ProFTPd all the way jay.

Misel 11-15-2003 09:22 PM

ProFTP but mainly because it comes right out of the box on slackware and I'm too lazy to try out the others ;)

pibby 11-15-2003 10:45 PM

What about gFTP?

baud 11-16-2003 04:46 AM

gFTP is for browsing, not serving...
That's my favourite ftp browser though (I miss this poll about FTP browsers...)

hw-tph 11-16-2003 05:18 AM

glFTPd! :D

Håkan

joseph 11-16-2003 07:20 PM

i use wu-ftpd and there is no problem

Inexactitude 11-16-2003 07:56 PM

Definetly Proftpd.

yapp 11-17-2003 06:43 AM

I haven't seen pure-ftpd here, unless that is the "Pure FTP Server" option

matador 11-17-2003 10:12 AM

I use glftpd but I can't vote for it :-(

markus1982 11-17-2003 11:22 AM

I use vsftpd for security, performance and stability reasons. Anybody using wu-ftpd should think about security...

Swift&Smart 11-17-2003 11:30 AM

....

markus1982,maybe you are right.Because my FTP server is very small-scale.For my personal use.

However,my ex-college uses wu-ftpd too.I definitely think that they don't know the security problem of wu-ftpd.But I might say,if you use it as a small-scale use and keep updated,it will definitely decrease the possibility of being hi-jacked. :)

mdevilz 11-17-2003 04:40 PM

Proftpd and SSH
