xf86-video-vga driver problem.
The x11-drivers/xf86-video-vga port is broken. The X-server is not fully
functional. The keyboard and mouse do not work. How to run X, I don't know.

Did you install xf86-input-keyboard and xf86-input-mouse for keyboard and mouse functionality? xf86-video-vga is a video driver.

Of course I did. I'm not so stupid. Last year, when the afore-mentioned port was maintained, de X server wouldn't run at its full without this driver. I installed 7.2-RELEASE with full xorg-7.4. The mouse and keyboard won't work.

Well, you mentioned a video driver port was broken. Then you went on to state that the keyboard and mouse didn't work. It's not alot for someone trying to help to work with. Good luck with your problem.

I'm talking about a FreeBSD port which is broken, i.e is not maintained anymore.
Without the driver, that used to be built by the mentioned port, I can't install on my FreeBSD system xf86-video-vga, which is essential for the Xserver to run.
Gentoo portage cannot be compared to the FreeBSD ports collection. The latter is a more sophisticated infrastructure. A certain port may have up to 40 dependencies.
If you ever have built Xorg from ports in FreeBSD, please give me advice.
Did I make myself clear?

I found the solution!
~#:Xorg -config
~#:cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf
~#:vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Add following lines to the file:
"Section "ServerFlags"
Option "DontZap" "Off"
Option "AllowEmptyInput" "Off"
Option "AutoAddDevices" "Off"
Option "AutoEnableDevices" "Off"

Keyboard and mouse work perfect thereafter.xorgconfig doesn't exist anymore, as it seems.
