When I put the following entries into .xinitrc, nothing can be seen?
Quote:
exec xearth&
exec xeyes&
exec xclock&
exec /usr/local/bin/fvwm

Hi,
exec will replace the current shell so you should only use it for the last thing that you want to run.
Eg.
Code:
xearth&
xeyes&
xclock&
exec /usr/local/bin/fvwm
HTH,
Evo2.

Thanks Evo2 for your help. I am wondering Motif and OpenLook window managers can be installed on FreeBSD 9 or not. Can't find them on packages-9.0-releases...

Sorry, I can't help with that, my FreeBSD (or any BSD) specific knowledge is almost nonexistent.
Cheers,
Evo2.
