I was wanting suggestions for the absolute best book for the complete FreeBSD beginner who has no FreeBSD experience at all.

The FreeBSD Handbook is very well written and covers everything you need to know to get up and running.

Besides FreeBSD Handbook and FAQ which are really great piece of documentation and are UP-TO-DATE, especially important in context of FreeBSD 10 and PKGng, I would also check http://wiki.freebsd.org

As for books, this is one of the best:
Absolute FreeBSD (2nd Edition) @2008

This one is also good ones:
Book of PF (2nd Edition) @2010
Building Server with FreeBSD 7 @2008

The official handbook is very well documented and will serve you well.
