watchdog timeouts

Trying to configure ports , my network interface is not setup
i have a sis900 nic, first it says sis0: up ,then says watchdog timeouts

can anyone help?

ok, i found the fault by disabling acpi at bootime, it now works
i just have to learn the ports system
