StartX Command not found?? In Darwin x86 7.0.1


I have installed Darwin 7.0.1 x86 lately and I'm having trouble starting X
Any suggestions?

Check your $PATH , does it include /usr/X11R6/bin? If not, use the full path, /usr/X11R6/bin/startx

Are you sure that you actually installed the X Windows System? During the installation of FreeBSD, you've a bunch of options like:

Developer = This does not include X Window System
X - Developer = Same as above + X Window System
Kernel Developer = Without X Window System
X - Kernel Developer = Same as above + Window System...

Just in case that you've missed that one . This is freeBSD but that might be similar to Darwin, since Darwin is BSD based(???).

As I installed Darwin x86 version.... The installation only asked for the partition to be installed and continued with the uncompression, and that was it

/usr/x11r6/bin says that the directory is invalid
/usr/x11r6/bin/start x same thing

try to fing any directory conteining X11

and try to find X11 setup script , the path may be different
