Stange OpenBSD 3.5 error.
I have an alpha running OpenBSD 3.5 that is having a strange "fatal kernel trap".
After sylogd prints "May 21 01:30:05 alpha1 sendmail: gethostbyaddr (10.0.0.1) failed: 2"
the following comes up in blue writing:
"fatal kernel trap:
trap entry = 0x4 (unaligned access fault)
a0 = 0xfffffc00056b016e
a1 = 0x28
a2 = 0x2
pc = 0xfffffc00003f8b14
ra = 0xfffffc00003f8a4c
curproc = 0x0
Stopped at Debugger+0x4: ret zero, (ra)
RUN AT LEAST 'trace' ..... "
I've never ran into something like this so if anyone could help that would be great.
Ick, that's no good... I'm trying to remember which endian Alpha is, because the error (unaligned access fault) seems like it might have to do with the memory endianess, although I could be wrong. The error is in the resolver library apparently.
Have you tried posting to email@example.com with the error output and the output of dmesg?
I will try emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, but would re-installing help my situation or would it occur again? I have hardly anything on the machine with the problem.
