sshd - host key

hi,

i checked rc.config and sshd_enable="YES"

but i can't connect to my server from an ssh client on another pc

plus when i run sshd at the command line i get an error saying

could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key
could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key
disabling protocol version 1. could not load host key
disabling protocol version 2. could not load host key
sshd: no host keys available. exiting

How do i correct this problem?

Need a solution urgently.

Are you attempting to start sshd as root? Have you created your host keys? Are they in /etc/ssh?

Permissions!

and the files should be in $HOME/.ssh directory

He's asking about host keys not user keys. They are typically in /etc/ssh. It could be a permissions problem though. Private keys should be 600, and public keys should be 644.
