pkg_add behind a firewall

Hi

If I run (Free)(Pc) BSD, I can add a package from ports ( build it more actually ) or simply pkg_add <my_foo_pkg> as root ( of course... duuuhhh )

It all works well if you have ftp access...

But what if you only have http access ( ftp is being blocked by a fw )...

Are there ports/packages repositories in http...?

BRGDS

Alex

pkg_add(1) has some environment variables you can tweak - most notably PACKAGEROOT and PACKAGESITE - to point to a location of your choosing.

I think this should get you started:

Have you tried using sysinstall and setting the connection as http/ftp behind a firewall?

ftp-proxy

If your firewall is running FreeBSD and you have access to it, installing this program will also solve your problem: /usr/ports/ftp/ftp-proxy
