I decided to try out NetBSD, since I have aleady used FreeBSD and OpenBSD and liked both of those. I downloaded the i386cd.iso and the i386pkg.iso. I installed the system choosing everything, and using the GENERIC_LAPTOP kernel (installed in my HP pavilion ze5270)

I must say the installation routing for NetBSD is quite nice. But I have 2 questions...

1. I can't get my Linksys WPC11 v.3 card to pick up an IP. The card is recognized in the slot, but for some reason it won't associate with the wireless router. It's not a problem with the card or the router, because it works fine under anything else (currently FreeBSD 5.3, Slackware 10, OpenBSD 3.6, and RHEL WS 3). Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.

2. The i386pkg CD, how to install all the packages that are on there? I installed it a couple of times (just toying around with it) and I didn't realize that the i386pkg disc contained the installation files too. So using the pkg disc I did an ALL install again, which leaves me with the same thing as the first, smaller disc.

Does the card show in "ifconfig -a"?

Yes, the card shows in ifconfig -a...

it lists it's IP as 0.0.0.0 and some off random inet6 address. I was asking in #netbsd IRC and the person said it's probbaly just some default version 6 addy.. since I am not running IPv6 on my network...
