ok, i installed the FreeBSD release for the AMD64 architecture. i have some other details i have to address before i can really dig in and start installing apps, but i figured i can preempt the BSD community here on this topic. i assume there are some in the ports tree, but i haven't had the experience digging into the ports tree, so i was wondering if anyone has aready found some 64bit apps. mostly just day to day stuff, an image editor, a word processor, stuff like that. heck, do the GUI's have stable 64bit versions?
if not no big deal. standard 32bit apps run fine on my Athlon 64.
