LAMP advice requested
Hi All,
I am interested in setting up a LAMP server minus the L
I have decided to use FreeBSD 5.3 as the OS.
Is there any advice you can give me regarding setting the server up or maintaining it?
Real world experience would be helpful.

I don't use BSD but this LAMP tutorial is what I used to set up my LAMP server. Hopefully it will be of some use to you. Good luck with it -- J.W.

Also, it's worth highlighting that when running a publicly accessible server of any kind you must keep current on security issues and stay up to date with the patches your BSD releases. Even when not running a publically accessibly server this is an Extremely Good Idea (TM). Also, a lot of the Web sites seem pretty Linux oriented. Realize that most of this knowledge will easily transfer over, but the BSDs do have some differences (ports collection, different style init scripts). You'll want to get comfortable with how things work in order to fix problems. Also, read the FreeBSD Handbook, preferably before you run into trouble  .
