i'm very newbie in *BSD looking for an answer..

I have a Nokia 6600 cellphone with GPRS service enabled, I want to use it as GPRS modem connected to my PC via bluetooth.. I already paired the cell phone with my PC, but I have no idea how to dial with pppd?

From the rfcomm_pppd man page, i get the option "rfcomm-dialup" to connect but I think it's not working (in my case).

the program ive tried on 4 Linux variants, and 1 BSD variant, it works very well....

It has been tested on many phones, I use it on a Motorola, and a sony ericsson t68i

If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to help, I have many GPRS scripts that may help you get connected.

You will need the modules simple ULR, Pearl, and Pearl TK, The PPPd will be enabled after install, just remember to Setbit SUID in the PPPD....and it will work under standard user mode.

thx 4 the URL, I've downloaded the program.. But I think I've not installed perl TK in my system because the installer said that Perl TK is not found.. Where can I found it??

Or can you give me one of your GPRS scripts?? I just don't understand AT commands, so I usually used KPPP (in Linux) for dialing to /dev/rfcomm0. But in FreeBSD things are very different..

First you will need to finish the dependancy of the easy connect with the Module Pearl-TK.... this can be found at:

the Module I believe you will need if i remember correct is

TK-800.024.tar

Depending on your BSD version, you may be asked to install also as a dependancy for this dependancy also, but I think not.

Untar the program, Install, and again try to install the gprseasyconnect, If all works fine, the graphic interface will come up...
If you use a serial cable, use com 1, to your primary serial port,

if you do not have a script listed for your region, you can easily fix that,
in the graphic user interface, in the BSD version like this:

you phone should be listed in the options, if not, you can manually edit that,

the second line on the front of the interface you need :

youraccount.yourprovider.yourdomain

in the setup do:

user and password, default english if you like

and if yuo have this your provider, DYNAMIC DNS IS ALLOWED

and in rare parameters , add the line

*99***3#

then do "ok/save data

then connect...

if you get errors, we can go from there to debug.

Sorry to jump in part way through this conversation but I'm trying to use GPRS Connect to setup a connection from a FC2 box to Vodafone UK using bluetooth to connect to the phone and I'm hitting a little problem. Basically when I try to run the installer it just freezes, I've checked the dependencies and they all appear to be there as best I can tell but it just goes no further. If anyone can help I'd be most grateful.
