FreeBSD packages/ports on a old computer

Hi,

I'm going to install FreeBSD to a old computer and I would like to know if I should use binary packages instead of ports. I don't need so many apps, just Apache, screen, irssi, Perl, PHP, vim and a few other small apps and libraries. I certainly don't need any X11 apps/libraries. Are the binary packages secure enough?

The computer has a Pentium I (200 MHz) CPU, 32 MB of RAM and 6 GB of HDD space.

For that kind of hardware, I would go for packages although I am sure ports would work fine if you don't mind long initial compile times.

If you have another computer with FreeBSD installed, you may use it to build ports to install on that old box of yours.
