free bsd 4.4

hi. i have bought unix free bsd 4.4, when i do the install, for one, my elsa gladiac geforce 2 gts 32 ddr video card is not on the video card list, i am lost here on what to do. when i start startx, i cannot get a functioning desktop, and i believe it may be the video adapter.do i have to get a video adpater supported by the list, they all seem outdated.

I assume from the fact that you are asking this on linuxquestions that you have a working linux setup on the machine. In that case you can probably use your linux X11 config file. You may need to install XFree86 v4.1. You will also need to chect that you installed the correct server. You can find out which one it is from your linux X11 config file.

Xfree86

well the card drivers have to match the server exactly. My problem before and I thought I posted it but oh well. anyway
xfree86 site

this is their list. if all else fails you can just install a generic low res svga server? stinks but at least its somthing and you can build from their. I did come across somewhere about getting it all tweaked out and hi reviven. but if i come across it again ill make a post. Its good to have a central point to make sense of all the crude out on the internet
